Q. Do you pour foundations year around?
A. Yes, concrete foundations can be installed year round. Winter time pouring requires a slight change to the mix design. Interior slabs can be poured in the winter time as long as the space is heated. Exterior concrete (sidewalks, aprons and patios) should not be poured in below freezing temperatures or on frozen sub base.
Q. Will my concrete floors crack?
A. Yes, one of the characteristics of concrete it is likely to develop cracks. Most cracks are not caused by “bad” concrete, but caused by the soil under the concrete. If the sub base moves because of settling or heaving, the concrete slab is exposed to excessive stress and could develop a crack.
Q. Can you do anything to stop concrete from cracking?
A. We can discourage the concrete to crack randomly by saw cutting or using a plastic control joints. Although this method helps control cracks it does not guarantee that no other cracks will develop.
Q. Do you have any type of warranty?
A. Yes, we warranty all of our workmanship and materials, however we can not warranty against any cracks in the concrete or settling that may occur.
Q. Do you offer free estimates?
A. Yes, just call or drop us an email and we gladly schedule a time to meet with you and give you an estimate.
Q. About how long will my project take?
A. Typically a standard foundation will take about 3 to 4 days, basement, garages and most exterior concrete work will only take 1 to 2 days.
Q. How far will you travel from River Falls?
A. The travel distance is usually based on the size of the job. We can not be competitive on price to travel 70 miles to do a small sidewalk, however our crews have traveled as much as 90 miles to do a larger job.
Q. My basement has a leak in the wall, can it be fixed?
A. Yes, an epoxy injection can be applied to a crack to stop water penetration. Also many steps can be taken on the exterior of your house to discourage leaking. Gutters with downspouts and positive drainage will help.
