Howard Halverson, President/OwnerHoward graduated from River Falls High School and went on to Vo-Tech in Minneapolis, MN to become an aviation mechanic. The energy crisis in the mid 1970s meant less available jobs in that field and since he was about to wed his high school sweetheart, Michele, Howard went to work as a laborer for Keller Construction in Hudson, WI. He quickly progressed to a brick layer and in 1977 was named champion apprentice bricklayer during a state competition in Lake Geneva. In 1980 he and Michele launched Halverson Masonry which became Halverson Concrete Construction in 1997. Currently, Howard oversees our field operations including scheduling of all jobs, as well as being responsible for the overall management of the company. Howard enjoys golfing, boating and fishing in his spare time. He and wife Michele have been married since 1974 and have a son and a daughter, both employed at Halverson Concrete Construction.Darin Schleuter, Project ManagerDarin meets with potential customers and prepares estimates for projects. Halverson Concrete brought Darin on board in 2005. He came to us from an established construction firm in Hudson where he spent almost five years as their General Manager. He began his construction career in 1990 working for his father's masonry business, Schlueter Construction, in Osceola. Darin gained invaluable experience on both the technical and management aspects of running a small business while working with his father. When his father passed away, he went to work for a construction firm, first as a Project Superintendent and working his way into a General Manager postion, further enhancing his knowledge and experience base in the industry. Darin is a sports enthusiast and enjoys skiing, snowboarding, motorcycling adventures and spending time with his family.Alicia Davis, Accounting ManagerAlicia is responsible for all our accounting functions; including invoicing and payroll processing. After obtaining an accounting assistant certificate from WITC in New Richmond, she spent two and a half years working for Tunheim Partners, a public relatioins agency in the twin cities, as an Accounting Assistant. She left Tunheim Partners to join the family business as our bookkeeper when the office was moved out of the Halverson home and into town. Alicia enjoys scrap-booking, traveling, outdoor activities, and spending time with her husband and two children.
